With a 1.9 billion dollar surplus, the fact that the Idaho senate can’t see it’s way clear to give citizens immediate tax relief is appalling. What is more stunning? Senator Woodward positing that grocery tax repeal would necessitate an increase in other taxes. As if cutting in to a $1.9 billion surplus by 14% would somehow cripple the state. Cap that off with the condescension on the Senate floor that the citizens “just dont understand.” Well I think I understand. I am also pretty sure I don’t like it.
